General Class Rules Club Specific Information & Rules Useful Links
TT01 Euro Truck Racing is a proudly indie class within the RC racing community—quirky, competitive, and built for pure fun. First introduced by Tamiya in 2017, the Euro Truck kit quickly gained popularity thanks to its unique blend of accessibility and on-track entertainment.
One of the key reasons for its success was Tamiya’s decision to base the model on the well-loved TT01-E chassis rather than the newer TT02. In stock form, the TT01-E proved easier to set up and offered more predictable handling, making it the preferred choice for racers of all skill levels.
With multiple trucks on track, the racing takes on a comical and chaotic charm. Surprisingly, the trucks perform best in their stock configuration—upgrades to the chassis often do more harm than good when it comes to lap times. This has led to a grassroots ethos where simplicity and parity reign.
Across clubs, rules vary slightly, but most aim to preserve the stock spirit of the class. There’s no national series, and no other manufacturers have ventured into this niche, which only adds to its underground appeal.

Club Specific Information & Restrictions
Rule Modifications for Sheffield RC Racing
For our club we have suggested for the following guidelines for the truck rules.
Chassis - Only TT01-E chassis is allowed. The only modifications allowed to the chassis are to allow square lipo batteries to fit by removing the some of the battery tray supports.
Drive Train - Center shaft can be upgraded to aluminium. Spur gears will need to be upgrading, please see below. All other drive train parts must be stock (Including drive shafts).
Differentials - We allow the front to be spooled as we feel it makes the truck more stable. We do not allowed any changes or adjustments to the rear diff. It must be loose so that no advantages are gained.
Steering - We allow adjustable steering arms as we feel this helps improve stability.
Tyres - Kit tyres must be used. We do allow tyre inserts and side wall gluing.
Dampers and Springs - We allow and recommend dampers to be upgraded to help make the truck more stable.
ESC - We prefer everyone to use a Hobbywing 1060 so that we can ensure reverse is turned off
Motor - We find the Core-RC 27t is the best motor at the club. They are cheaper and more reliable.
Gearing - We have set a gearing restriction of 55t spur and 28t pinion. Yes, this is a maxed out option. With the small track size at Eckington the highest ratio is actually a disadvantage with a slower acceleration it makes the trucks more stable and much closer racing.
How Popular Is the Class at the Club? - The class is very popular at our Eckington club, with usually at least a full heat of cars at each meeting.
What Is the Ability Range of Racers at Our Club? - We have a very high ability level in this class, including some national-level racers. Despite the competitive nature, they are a friendly bunch who thoroughly enjoy the fun side of the class. Racers of all abilities are warmly welcomed.
What Body Shell Is Popular at Our Club? - The Montech M-Truck 2.0 seems to be the favourite and best value.
Setup Advice for Our Club
It is hard to get a bad handling TT01 with our club rules. Just try to make the suspension soft and level. We also recommend cleaning the tyres regular as they pick up a lot dirt from the track in the tread pattern.
